Vegan Mofo Post #4

Sorry for the brief absence.  I had to have surgery on my right leg on Monday and recovery has been harder than I thought.  The pain pills made me loopy and all I did was sleep.  Now I am more awake but unable to walk or drive very far.

I did pick up my box from my 2nd CSA on Saturday.  It was full of green goodness.

Kale

Kohlrabi

Chard

Berry Smoothie
I did manage to make myself a smoothie.  That is about the healthiest thing I have had in days.

1/2 C. Blueberries
1/2 C. Strawberries
12 oz Soy Milk (organic non GMO)
1 TBSP Flax seeds
1 TBSP Cacao powder

Not sure about the Cacao powder.  It sort of gave the smoothie a chalky taste.  I think I may have used too much or the berries weren't sweet enough to count act the chalk.

 I am having fun playing with the new lights and lightbox.  I forgot to mention that I got the directions from this page on Oh She Glows Blog. Again it was really easy and cost me about $80 and I did not look for deals I just bought the first of everything that I came across.

Finally since this is also about my fiber arts the kohlrabi is resting on a placemat I wove myself.

I am going back to my bed now.  Tomorrow I am going to attempt to make apple butter.  We shall see if I can stand long enough to get everything prepped.

  1. I made mine with tissue paper. I like the table cloth idea better...the tissue rips very easily. Might have to make another! That smoothie looks so yummy!

  2. That smoothie has such a great colour!

    I keep meaning to make a lightbox but never get around to it. It really does wonders for indoor photography - especially food.
